Dr. Hanna Marno

Assistant Professor, Psychologist, Couples and Family Therapist Candidate

I obtained my degree in Psychology at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary in 2007. Following this, I did my PhD studies at Birkbeck College, University of London, where I mainly focused on social learning processes. Later I extended this research also on childhood, and together with my colleagues we investigated infants’ and young children’s social learning skills at the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy. In the past years currently besides teaching and doing research as an Assistant Professor at the Eötvös Lóránd University, I also started to work as a Psychology Counsellor. In the meantime, I am also getting trained as a Family- and Couple Therapist.

As a psychology counsellor, I can offer my help in various topics that might cause temporary crisis or blockage in my clients’ life. These topics could include problems in social relationships, unresolved family issues, carrier- or work-related doubts, problems with self-esteem, or recurring mood swings. Since I have extensive experience about working in international environments, changing countries and adopting to new cultural environments, I am very familiar with the problems that expats might need to face living away from their countries, and I can offer my help to cope with such problems. In accordance with the client, we are going to define together the frames of the consultation process, what should be in the focus of the meetings, what kind of methods would be optimal considering the personality of the client, and also how many consultations would be needed. I can offer psychology counselling both for individuals and for couples. In case it’s necessary, we can also arrange online sessions.
